People often ask me what do different colors mean. When designing a project, it’s always a good rule to understand the company’s branding. Usually, the company has colors and fonts established, however, it can be to select a color from photos and experiment with different palettes. Of course, people have their own opinions on what is a good color. Below are some basic definitions.

Red – energy, heat, warmth, passion, danger, dynamic or aggression. Can make you hungry, which is why restaurants and food packaging use it.
Orange – resembles modern thinking, innovation, young, fun, affordable, and obtainable.
Yellow – warm, friendly, happy, proceed with caution, cowardly, and warning. It can also make you hungry.
Green – finance, growth, nature, vegetables, and freshness.
Blue – symbolizes success, professionalism, integrity, sincere, or authority.
Purple – wisdom, royalty, luxury, wealth, and riches.
Black – sophisticated, death, power, or mundane.
White – purity, cleanliness, simplicity, and institutional.
Brown – manly, outdoors, or rural.
Pink – female, flirty, and fun.
